Booking Fingerprinting

The Sandy Township Police Regional Booking Center, located at the Police Department, serves all Clearfield County law enforcement agencies, primarily Sandy Township and the City of DuBois, as well as a few Commonwealth agencies such as DCNR, Pennsylvania Game Commission, and the State Attorney Generals Office.

All offenders arrested by Sandy Township or the City of DuBois Police Departments are processed at the facility utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting technology.

Live scan fingerprinting is inkless and it captures fingerprints and palm prints digitally which are electronically transmitted to the Pennsylvania State Police instantaneously to create or update an offender’s criminal history or “rap sheet”. The prints are then forwarded electronically to the FBI.

In addition, photographs or “mug shots” of all offenders are obtained to correspond with fingerprints for all criminal arrests using the Commonwealth Photo Imaging Network (CPIN) which is statewide database containing photographs or “mug shots” of offenders and utilizes biometric technology for identification.

Megans Law Offender Verification Compliance is also provided at the center.
